Aisha, a great example of Haya'

Sunday, March 11, 2012

From Aisha (Radia Allahu anha) :
" I used to enter the building in which the Messenger of Allah , and my father were buried , while I was dressed lightly , saying: " These are just my husband and father" However when 'Umar was buried, by Allah, I never entered this building except that my clothing was wrapped tightly around my body , out of shyness from 'Umar"

The Hairdresser of Firawn’s daughter

Monday, March 5, 2012

It was narrated that Ibn Abbaas (Radia Allahu anhu) said: The Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

"On the night on which  I was taken on the Night Journey (Isra') , a beautiful fragance come to me . I said: Oh Jibreel, What is this beautiful fragance? He said: This is the fragance of the hairdresser  of Pharaon's daughter and her childrens. I said: What is their history? He said: Whilst she was combing the hair of Pharaon's daughter one day , the iron comb fell from her hand and she said " Bismillaah" ( In the name of Allah) . The daughter of Pharaon said : My father? She said : No , my Lord and the Lord of your father is Allah. She said: ‘I will tell him about that.’ She said: ‘Yes.’ So she told him and he summoned her and said: ‘O So and so, do you have a Lord other than me?’ She said: ‘Yes, my Lord and your Lord is Allaah.’ He ordered that a baqarah (lit. “cow”) made of copper be heated up, then he ordered that she and her children be thrown into it. She said:I have a request  to make of you. He said: What is your request? She said: ‘I would like my bones and my children’s bones to be gathered together in one cloth and buried.’ He said: ‘This will be done for you.’ He ordered that her children be thrown into it in front of her, one by one, until they came to the last one who was an infant boy who was still being breastfed. It was as she wavered because of him but he said: ‘O mother, go ahead, for the punishment of this world is easier to bear than the punishment of the hereafter.’ So she went ahead.”
Ibn ‘Abbaas (Radia Allahu anhu) said : Four infants spoke: ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (Alehsalam), the companion of Jurayj, the witness of Yoosuf and the son of the hairdresser of Pharaoh’s daughter.

[Al-Dhahabi said in al-‘Aluw (84): This hadeeth has a hasan isnaad. Ibn Katheer said in al-Tafseer (3/15): There is nothing wrong with its isnaad. Its isnaad was classed as saheeh by the scholar Ahmad Shaakir in his commentary on al-Musnad (4/295). Al-Arna’oot said in Takhreej al-Musnad (5/30-31, no. 2821): Its isnaad is hasan.

If you don't understand, ask!!!

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

Yahya Ibn Khaleed  (Rahimahu Allah) said:
" Do not respond to anyone until you have understood their words, for that will cause you  to respond to what they have not said , and thus confirm your own ignorance. Rather you must understand  his speech properly. So when you understand him, then respond. And do not rush to answer before asking for clarity . And do not be shy to seek clarity when you do not understand . for verily answering before understanding is sheer idiocy! So if you do not know before asking , then ask!! Then it will come to you  Your questioning and seeking clarity is more praiseworthy and better for you then being silent and incapable of expressing yourself!!"

What are the Islamic laws on plucking the hair between the eyebrows ?
They replied : Plucking is permissible because it is not part of the eyebrows.

SOURCE: Fataawa al Laynah al Daa'imah 5/197 , Saikh Al Fawzan (Hafidhahu Allah)

You can hear the original audio in Arabic ,here.

Question-Can I cut the fringe of my hair , since it exceeds my eyebrows? May Allah Reward you with goodness
Answer- In fact, Muslim women can cut their  hair giving the court they like, especially when due to its length , it makes it hard to wasj and comb It is not permissible to shave the head, unless it is sick and is not allowed to use tracks that imitate the fashions imposed by disbelieving women of questionable decency.

SOURCE: Shaikh Ibn Baaz (Rahimahu Allah) in Islamic jurisprudence responses for women.

Question- What is the ruling of plucking the hair of the eyebrows and the hair in between if it is thick ? Is it permmissible to remove the hair of the moustache and the face , and does this kind of hair take the   same ruling as the hair of the eyebrows ? What is the ruling on what religiously committed women should do to please their husbands and society?
Answer- It is not permissible to pluck eyebrows , because this is Nams ( removing hair from the face/ eyebrows) . The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) cursed whoever does it, because this implies the changing of Allah's Creation , as this is driven by Satan . If a woman's husband order her to do that, she should not obey him , because this is a sin, and there is not obedience to anyone in disobedience to the Creator. Obedience is only in what is good as per the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) Hadith. Therefore, the hair of the face is not to be removed  unless it deforms the face , such as a moustache or a beard grows on a woman's  face. In this case there is nothing wrong to pluck out this hair .
May Allah grant us sucess, May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammed , his Family and his Companions.

Music , a trap from shaytaan

Monday, February 27, 2012

" From among the artful machinations and entrapments of Allah's enemy [Shaytaan], with which he has snared those possessing little good sense , knowledge and deen [faith], and by which he has stalked the hearts of the false and ignorant people , there is the listening to whistling , wailing , handclapping and song to the accompaniment of forbidden [musical] instruments Such things blocks the Quran from people's hearts and make them devoted to sin and disobedience. For song (to musical accompaniment) is the Quran of ash -Shaytaan. it is a dense veil and barrier, preventing nearness to Ar- Rahmaan! (Allah) By way of such song , satan deceives vain souls , making it appear pleasing to them throught his cunning appeal to their vanities. He insidiously  whispers false , specious arguments suggesting the "goodness" in song. These arguments are accepted  , and as a result , the Quran becomes an object of neglect and abandonment."

Who is allowed to give fatwa?

Saturday, February 25, 2012

It is reported that Imam Malik (Rahimahu Allah) was asked: Who is allowed to give religious rulings (fatwa)? He replied:
Issuing fatwa is not allowed except for a person who knows what the people have differed in. It was said: Do you mean the different views of the people of opinions ( those who depend more on analogy and speculation)? He replied: No,  (I mean) the different views of the Companions of Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) And he most also know the textual evidence that abrogates ( other rulings) and that which is abrogated ( by other texts) both in the Quran and the hadeeth of Allah's Messenger (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) .
Such a person can issue fatwa.
