Standing between prayers

Thursday, December 29, 2011

It has been reported in the hadeeth of Mu’aawiyah ( Radia Allahu anhu) that he said:
"The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) ordered us not to join one prayer with another without leaving or speaking (in between)" [Transmitted by Muslim and Abu Dawood]
So the scholars have understood from this , that a gap most be made between the obligatory and the Sunnah- either by speaking or by changing one's place.

Beautiful quote about Music

Friday, December 23, 2011

A man said to Ibn Abbaas (Radia Allahu anhu) , "What do you say concerning music? Is it permissible or is it forbiden?"
He responded: " I do not say it is forbidden except what is found in the Book of Allah. "
The man said:" So you say it is permissible then?"
Ibn Abbaas (Radia Allahu anhu) stated: " I do not say that" Then he (Ibn Abbas) said to him: " Do you see that truth and falsehood will come on the Day of Juzgement , so where will music be on that day?"
So the man said "It (music) will be falsehood on that day".
Upon this, Ibn Abbaas closed with , " Go then for I have given the ruling for you".

The most precious gift

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Abdur Rahmaan Ibn Abi Layla said to Ka'b Ibn Ujratah stay and then he said:  Would you like  me to give to a gift? , the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) came to us and told us to come to you to teach us how to send us the Salam. How do send the greeting? The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) replied: "Oh Allah brings peace abd blessings on Mohammed and his family in the same way you did to Ibrahim. Verily, you are the most blessed and glorious."" Oh Allah bless Mohammed and his family in the same way that You exalt to Ibrahim and his family. Verily, You are the most blessed and glorious." [ Recorded by Bukhari (6357) and Muslim (935)]

Benefits of this subject :"Abdur Rahmaan Ibn Abi Layla said to Ka'b Ibn Ujratah:" Would you like me to give you a gift?"
  1. Abd Al Rahman as Sa'dee (Rahimahu Allah) said: "These words show the Companions (Radia Allahu anhun) and Tabi'oon's superiority and desire for good and knowledge. So much so, they held knowledge about one issue as the mot valuable gift. Reason being, knowledge remains and is well being for this life and the next."  [Sharhu Umdatil Ahkam vol 1 page 366]
  2. Ibn Mulaqqim (Rahimahu Allah) said:" A gift is given to gain someone's love, friendship or to honor them. Some people even say it's given in order to earn a reward in the next life and nothing in this life. In most cases a gift is food , drink or clothing. However this hadeeth shows it to be permissible to give knowledge as a gift." [‘Ilaam bi Faw’idi Umdat al-Ahkam, vol 3, p. 450]
  3. Abdullah Al Bassam ( Rahimahu Allah) said: " The Salaf used to exchange knowledge about issues and verdicts as gifts. They considered these affairs as valuable gifts. Knowledge about religious issuesand verdicts are the most precious gifts and presents." [Tayseer al- ‘Alaam, vol 1, #117]
  4. Shaykh Saleem al Hilalee (Hafidhahu Allah) said: Abd al Rahman Ibn Abi Layla met K'ab (Radia Allahu anhu) . K'ab asked Abd al Rahman if he wanted a gift. In those days the best gift one could give was knowledge about religious issues. The Companions and the Tabi'oon used to consider knowledge as something precious. Therefore when a man taught his brother something, he has given him the best gift man can give." [Zubdat al-Afham, vol 1, p. 504]
  5. Shaykh Muqbil Ibn Hadee al Wadee (Rahimahu Allah) said: " How beautifull knowledge is! It is better than gold and money. It is even better than beautiful women and worldly possesions..."

The women Salah ( Amin, Adhan, Iqamah)

Sunday, December 11, 2011

Question 3 : Does the woman raise her voice with saying the Amin , and does she also give the Adhan and the Iqamah (for prayer)?
Shaykh Albani answers: As for is it correct for the woman to raise her voice with amin , then there is a detailed explanation with regard to the question. If she is praying with women , then yes.  As for if she is praying with men who are strangers (i.e. no mahram) , then no. Because I do not say that the voice of a woman is 'awrah, as many say, because the mothers of the believers and the wives of the early Companions used to speak with men and uned to communicate with men ; and often timen the woman used to come to the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) and ask him (a question) in front of the men.And he (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) would asnwer her question.
But (here) it is not part of the good manners of a woman that she raises her voice with the recitation of the Quran. we are often asked - is it permissible for the woman , when she is learning the recitation from the Shaykh who is a reciter , to repite the recitation to him, in order for him to correct her- the answer is no. Although she learns, her learning is restricted to listen only , as learned the women of  all the Companions from the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) by listening to his recitation during prayer or outside of prayer.

Muslims united by the moon ( The use of the Islamic calendar, according to Sharee'ah )

Monday, December 5, 2011

The Muslims are required by Sharee'ah to be united in starting and ending the fast-and how that may be achieved. Why are the Muslims not united with regard to the beginning and end of Ramaadan ? How that can be achieved?

Praise be to Allah.
Undoubtedly for the Muslims to be united in starting and ending is something desirable and it is something that is required by Sharee'ah wherever possible , and there are only two conditions of achieving that:
  1.  All Muslim scholars should do away with relying on calculations as the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) and the early generations of this ummah did,  and follow moonsighting or completing the number of days (in the month) as was explained by the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) in the saheeh ahaadeeth.  Shaikh al Islam Ibn Taymiyah (Rahimahu Allah) said in al-Fataawa (25/132, 133) that the scholars were unanimously agreed that it is not permissible to rely on calculations for proving the beginning and end of the fast and so on. Al-Haafiz narrated in Al Fath (4/127) that al Baaji said: The consensus of the Salaf is that calculations should not be relied on , and their consensus is proof for those who come after them.
  2. They should commit to following the sighting of the moon in any Muslim state that follows the  Sharee'ah of Allah and adheres to its rulings. When it is proven in that country that the new moon have been sighted with shar'i proof, with regard to the beginning or end of the fast ,then they should  follow that, in accordance with the words of the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) " Fast when you see it , and stop fasting when you see it, and if is too cloudy then complete the number (of days)" and "We are an unlettered nation , we do not write or calculate. The month is such and such , and he gestured with all of his fingers , meaning that the month maybe twenty-nine days or it may be thirty. There are  many ahadeeth with similar meanings from Ibn 'Umar ,Abu Hurayrah, Hudhayfah Ibn al Yamaan and others ( Radia Allahu anhun). It is well know that what the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said was not addressed only to teh people of Meedinah, rather it is addressed to the entire Ummah at all timesand in all places until the Day of Resurrection.

When those two conditions are met , then  All Muslim countries, will be able to fast together and break the fast together , and we ask Allah to enable them to do that and to help them to rule  by Islamic Sharee'ah and reject that  which goes against it. Undoubtedly that is obligatory upon them because Allah says: interpretation of the meaning:
" But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission”[al-Nisa’ 4:65]
And there are similar verses.
There is also no doubt that ruling all their affairs in accordance with sharee'ah is in their best  interests and will unite them and help them against their enemies and help them to attain happiness in this world and in the Hereafter. We ask Allah to open  their hearts to that and to help them to achieve it, for He is All-Hearing, Ever-near. End quote.

How Muslim most treat a kaafir

Saturday, December 3, 2011

They brought to Thumama bin Uthal, leader of Al Yamama, he was a kaafir. Was captured by a cavalry that Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) had sent. He was intending to perform Umrah , and then the cavalry arrested him and took him to Medina. Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) fastened him to one of the pillars of the Mosque. Whenever the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) passed near of him, said: "What have you got?", He replied: "I have got good , oh Muhammed , if you want property , then ask me whatever wealth you want; if you should set me free you would do a favor to one who is grateful. The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) whenever he pased, he asked the same question and Thumama always answered the same.
Then Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam)  said :"Release Thumama"  So he ( Thumama) went to a garden of date-palm trees near to the Mosque , took a bath and then go to the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) and said:" "I testify that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, and also testify that  you ,Muhammad , are the Prophet of Allah" By Allah!! I never hated anyone on this earth as much as you. By Allah, there was not face on the surface of the earth mos disliked by me than yours. By Allah, there was not religion most disliked by me that yours. But now, there is nobody most beloved to me that you, your face has become the most beloved face to me and your religion has becomed the most beloved religion to me".

" We have seen those who teach foreign to the Muslim youth (for example) instead of saying As Salam alaykum , what does he say ? " Good Bye". We ask Allah , As Salamaah ( That He free us from this affliction)... Also on the public phones , when answering , what do people say ? " Hello". LA ILAAHA ILLALLAH  ( used in atonishment). Where is the statement os As Salam alaykum , which is from the sunnah?! So, when you answer the phone , say As salam alaykum , it is much better that the statement hello.

The passport of the believer

Saturday, November 26, 2011

Q- I am an Algerian joung man; religiously upright (If Allah Subhanna wills). I have lived in Canada for a long time and I try to leave it as soon as posible. But I do not have a residence to settle down in my country.
So, is it permissible to get the Canadian passport ( with some conditions I will mention later on) since it enables me to leave this country and enter the Gulf States and try to settle there?
And here are the conditions:
  1. Indeed getting the Canadian passport will not invalidate my Algerian nationality , but it will be the original one , this is confirmed by their laws and the Algerian country accepts plurality of nationalities.
  2. I am able to renounce this passport whenever I want , without having problems. This is also confirmed by their laws.
  3. I can avoid the oath of respecting the Queen , her children and the King as long as I sit in the back of the room without uttering a word.
May you be helpful for us ( by your answer) and May Allah bless you.

A- All praise is due to Allah , the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent as a Mercy to the Worlds, upon his Family, his Companions and his Brothers till the Day of Resurrection.
It is not allowed to acquire the disbelievers' nationality even with keeping the original one , because of the negative aspects which affect the Muslim's religion and creed. It is enought to know what results from implicit contenment in applying the disbelievers' customs and laws of that country, besides referring to them as judges and showing pride of being a Canadian citizen and all what engenders ; in terms of allegiance and friendship toward them and imitating them in their words and deeds. This contradicts the completeness of faith or nullifies it , according  to the situation. Allah ta'ala said:
﴿لاَ تَجِدُ قوْمًا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاللهِ وَاليَوْمِ الآخِرِ يُوَآدُّوْنَ مَنْ حَادَّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلَو كَانُوا آبآءَهُمْ أَوْ أَبْنَآءَهُم أَوْ إخْوَانَهُم أَوْ عَشِيرَتَهُمْ…﴾ [المجادلة: 22].
Translation of the meaning of the verse:
You (O Mohammad ) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Mohammad ), even though they were their fathers or their sons or their kindred (people)…". [Al-Mujâdilah (The Woman Who Disputes): 22. So the Muslim is called to complete his religion and increase his faith in calling to Allah ta'ala and showing Islam.
And among the conditions of traveling to the country of disbelief is to manifest the religion and reveal its rites in a complete way without any opposition to any of them; with the capacity of being loyal to the Muslims and disavowal to the disbelievers. And those who are not able to do so are obliged to go back to the place they came from and try hard to look for a job and getr satisfied with littleness and ask Allah for sucess. He is the best Helper and the Best Provider.
The perfect knowledge perform to Allah. Our last prayer is all praise is due to Allah. , the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and Blessing be upon our Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam), his Family, his Companions and Brothers till the Day of Resurrection.

Women in the Masjid

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

QUESTION- There are some Masjids in which the women pray below the actual Masjid , such as in the basement or in a upper level (above the Masjid). We are women who pray in these Masjids , at times followinf the Imaam from a point where we are not able to see him nor the male followers. And sometimes there is a large empty space left over in the area of prayer for the men. Is our prayer valid if we cannot see the Imaam of any of the (male) followers ,and while knowing that sometimes we enter the Masjid and don't know what raka'h he is in. It is allowed in this situation to follow (the Imaam) by (hearing) the raise voice only. Ansd it is correct for us to follow the Imaam while we are on an upper or lower level knowing that at times there is ample room in the Masjid (floor)?

ANSWER- The answer in is two parts. The first is that the prayer and the mentioned scenario is valid so long as the women pray in the Masjid, regardless or whether it is in the upper or lower level. And it is so long as they are able to hear the takbeers from the Imaam indicating the change in position, such as from standing to bowing to prostrating.
The second part is that it is not proper for the women to pray like this unless the area for the men is filled with people and they (the women) cannot find a place behind the rows for them to pray in. In this circumstances, it is permissible for the women to pray in the upper or lower level of the Masjid. But if this Masjid, where the Imaam and the men behind him pray, has ample room left over, then it is not allowed for the women to go up to the upper level or down to the lower level where they won't be able to see the movements of the men praying behind him. The reason for this goes back to two matters:
  1. When the Prophet ,Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam ,said: "The best rows for the men are their first ones and their worst (rows) are their last ones. And the best rows for women are their last ones and the worst (rows) are their first ones" he meant by it in the same ground of the Prophet, Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam , and his companions behind him used to pray on. The women were not in upper or lower levels.
  2. The underlying reason for this is that the speakiers at times can be low and at others times they are not working. So the prayer of the women, who are following him from a upper or lower level, from which they cannot see the prayer of the Imaam or those behind him, is subject to becoming invalid.
To summarize this answer. The prayer that is performed while on a upper or lower level is valid. However, it is not permissible to designate those places for prayer when there is enough room in the prayer place ( musalla) , such that the women are able to pray in the back of it.

The Baraqah is in the word

"Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect." (33,56)

Question- Is it permissible to write the letter (S) instead of written (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) , and why?
Answer- The sunnah is to write the entire phrase (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam), since it is a supplication , and the supplication is a form of worship, such as verbally saying it (the phrase), and the abbreviation for it using the letter (S) or Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam , (or (SAAW) or the like) is not constitute a supplication , and nor a form of worship , whether it be by speech or writing. And because of this, this abbreviation was not used by those of the first three generations about whom the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) bore witness to their excellence.

And with Allah lies all sucess and may Allah sends prayers and salutations upon our Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) and his family and his companions.

Nasheed is not part of the religion.

Thursday, November 10, 2011

The Ruling to listen to music:
Music and other kinds of instruments are all evil, they are things that Satan makes appear attractive and enjoyable, and he calls people to them so as to distract them from the truth by means of falsehood , and so that he can lead them away from what Allah loves to what He hates and has decreed Haram (prohibited). Music, the lute of all musical instruments are all munkar ( that which is unacceptable or disapproved of by Islamic law and Muslims of sound intellect) and it is not permmisible to listen to them. It has been authentically reported that the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Verily, among my Ummah (nation) there will be people who will deem as lawful: Zina, silk, Khamr (alcohol) and musical instruments.”
The "Hir" refers to the illegal sexual relations or zina ( premarital sexual intercourse and/or adultery)
and the prohibited means of entertainment refers to song and  musical instruments. I advice you and the other women or men to increase your recitation and listen to the program of " Nour `Ala Al-Darb"
as such acts include much beneficts and will definitely attract you away from the evil of listening to songs and musical instruments.

May Allah guide all to what pleases Him. He is All-Hearer and Responsive!

SOURCE: Fatwas of Ibn Baz>Volume 3>Evidence from the Qur'an and Sunnah prohibiting and warning against singing and musical instruments>Ruling on listening to music,  part.3, pag. 436

NASHEED:

  • The view of Shaykh  Saleeh al Fawzan (Hafidhahu Allah):
  • Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) said: There has been a lot of talk about Islamic nasheeds. I have not heard them for a long time. When they first appeared, there was nothing wrong with them. There where no duffs and they were performed in a manner did not invlove any fitnah (corruption), and they were not performed with the tunes of haraam (impersible) songs. But then , the nasheed changed and we began to heard a rythm that may have been aduff or it may habe been something other that aduff and they began to choose performers with beautiful and enchanting voices , then they changed further and began to be performed in the manner of haraam songs. Hence we began to feel uneasy about them, and unable to use fatawas stating that they were permissibe in all cases, or that they were forbidden in all cases. If they are free of the things that I have refered to, then , they are permissible, but if they are accompanied by duff or performers are chosen who have beautiful and enchanting voices, or they are performed in the manner of indecent songs then it is not permissible to listen to them. Al-Sahwah al-Islamiyyah (p. 185).
  • Shaykh al Albanee (Rahimahu Allah) said:  I remember very well that when I was in Damascus, two years befoe I migrated hete to Amman, some of the Muslim youth starting to sing few nasheeds that had sound meanings, intending thereby to counteract t Sufi songs like the Busayri poems and others. They recorded these nasheeds on tapes but soon it was accompanied by beating the duff!! At first they used it in wedding parties on the basis that the duff is permissible in such parties , then the tapes became widespread and copies were made of them, and they started to be used in many homes. People began listening to them day and night, whether there was an ocassion or not. It became their wayof relaxing. But that is only because of their whims and desires and their ignorance of the shaytaan's tricks , who was diverted them from payying attention to the Qura'an and listening to it- let alone studying it! The Quraa'n (thus), became forsaken by them as it says in the verse: “The Messenger (Muhammad ) will say, “O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Qur’aan (neither listened to it nor acted on its laws and teachings).’” [Soorah al-Furqaan (25): 30]” [Tahreem Aalaat al-Tarb (p.181, 182)]
  • Shaykh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyah said: To sum up, what is well know in the Islamic religion is that the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) did not prescribe for the righteous, devoted worshippers and ascetics of his Ummah to gather to listen to poetic verses recited accompanied with clapping or the beating of a duff. It is not permisible for anyone to deviate from following that wich he (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) brought on the Book and Wisdom, whether that has to do with inward or outward matters, either for an ordinary man or a member of the elite. The Prophet granted  concessions allowing some kinds of entertainment in weddings and the like and he allowed women to beat the duff during weddings and others celebrations. As for the men of his era, not one of them used to beat the duff or clap, rather it is proven  in the Saheeh (Al Bukhari) that he (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "Clapping is for women, and tasbeeh is for men” , And he cursed the women who imitate men and the men who imitate women. Because singing, beating the duff and clapping are things that women do, the Salaf used to call a man, who did those things  effeminate , and this is well know among their sayings. The Muslim way of football.

    Saturday, November 5, 2011

Q-The trusted advisor Sheikh Yahya ibn Ali Al-Hayuri (Hafidahu Allah) he was asked:
What are the rules regarding the clothing that contains names of football players printed on it?

A- These names must be deleted and it is not appropiate for the student of knowledge or caller to Allah or even the ordinary Muslims have the player's name written on their clothes and it is advised to the Muslims, to distance themselves from these clothes which contain phrases of propaganda in favor of some players in  them.

    Az Kanz Az-Zamin, Vol. 4, pág 170-171

And the Shaikh and others like him among the people of knowledge, have warned against football and many times mentioned the damage that is found in it, of which :

    • The lack of love and hate for the sake of Allah: You like and support a particular football player because of the way he plays or the tricks used in the game, but really do not believe in Allah, the Almighty and the Last Day. But not think about it because you are too bussy trying to win the game!!!!
    • The kack of good manners and behavior: Of the things that are well know in football is that the person who have good manners and behavior, once he enters the playing field is a totally different person from the aspect of the customs and manners. If he see some one who is not playing well and he notices it, he raises his voice and maybe even curse him though he is his Muslim brother!!!!! Allahul-Must'aan.
    • The revelation of awrah: when he wants to play football dress tight shorts that reveal the knee and part of his tight, and was narrated under the authority of Ibn Abbas (Radia Allahu anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam)  said: "The tight is awrah" reported by Al Bukhari in his Sahih.
    • The loss of time: It's a big waste of time, you are not in the remebrance of Allah, nor in their worship, or the pursuit of knowledge, or just do any action and is it in a state of neglect, likely to fall into sin, while either you know it. Since those , who say that is only exercise, then, they are advised to try something that does not involve disobedience to Allah , the Almighty, and have no doubt about it, and care what will benefict him in the afterlife and bring closer to Allah, for verily the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: " Take care of what benefict you" reported by  Muslim in his sahih.
    Allahu A'lam,  Abu Abdir-Rahman Yunus At-Tawil

Legislation about wearing clothing which contains image /name of a player kuffaar:
Shaykh al 'Saleh al Fawzaan was asked about the following:
Q- One who takes what unbelievers wear as keep in the back of the clothes the name of a football player from an unbeliever, but he does not intend to imitate them with this.............?
A- This is an unbeliever venerating, while he wears clothing bearing the name or image  of unbelievers is ocnsidered worship the kuffaar, so this is not permisible, at least is it inadmissible ,and if you intend to venerate them below, fear for apostasy, na'am......

The history of 'Umar and the Black Stone

    Friday, November 4, 2011

Al Bukhari relates that 'Umar (Radia Allahu anhu) came to the Black Stone (performing Tawaf, ring road), kissed it and then said:

"I know that you are a stone that no cause benefict or harm, and if it was not, because I had seen the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam), kissing you, I would never have kissed you."
Al-Bukhari, Al-Sahih, chapter in what has been said about the Black Stone.

    POINTS TO SUGGEST:
    • The eminent Companion and Caliph, 'Umar reminded us in this narrative on pure belief that benefict and harm are not caused by objects created and should not be looked from them. Only Allah has the control over these things.
    • They remind us that acts of worship are taken from the Messenger of Allah, and that a person is not supposed to do their own form of worship, must follow the form of worship which the Prophet teach and practiced.
    • We also learn that once an action is confirmed in the Sunnah, the believer submits and obeys him and practiced because it is confirmed that the Messenger of Allah did, even we do not know the knowledge behind it.
    • This history is also an example of how a responsible person try to clarify and remove any misconceptions that people may have about matters of faith. People had recently left their disbelief and polytheism then 'Umar wanted to make clear that kissing the Black Stone is not in any way as an act of devotion to it, as people used to do with their stone idols.

Make du'aa for me and for you.

Any one who tells another make du'aa for me/us with the intention that the person being questioned will benefct making the du'aa, and that the person that makes the request will also benefict because the action by which is asked- as he would benefict by asking someone else to do any virtuous deeds, then this person is following the example of the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam). This is not considered to be of the questions that are not preferred.

Concerning the one who whose only intention (by petition) is that he can get his need, without having the intention to benefict to him who makes the request, then this person is not among those who have made the Messenger (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) as example in this matter. But ratherthis type of request is not preferred, abandone it and come back to Allah in the need and ask is better that to return to the creation in the need and ask to them.(1)

The hadeeth compiled by Imam Ahmed, Tirmidhi, and Abu Dawud in which Umar Ibn Khataab, ask to the Prophet the permission to do the 'Umrah, then he allowed and said"Do not forget us, my brother,  in your Du'aa."'
Shaikh Albani has declared that the hadeeth is false in his notes in Mishkaat al Masaabih and Jaami Al-Da'if' as was clarified by Shaykh Rabee 'in his notes to this book.

Did you know ..... In your prayer you shoot the devil ?

    Thursday, November 3, 2011

He ( Salla Allahu alaythi wa sallam) would spread his left palm on his left knee, clench all the fingers of his right hand, point with the finger adjacent to the thumb towards the qiblah and fix his sight on it (i.e.the finger).
Also , when he point with his finger, he would put his thumb on his middle finger and sometimes he would make a circle with these two.
When he raised his finger, he would move it supplicating with it and he use to say:

"It is surely more powerful against the devil than iron, meaning the forefinger." (185)

Footnote 185: Muslim, Abu 'Awanaah and Ibn Khuzaimah. Humaida (13/1) and Abu Ya'laa ( 275/2) added with a Saheeh sanad on the authority of Ibn 'Umar: and this is the shooting of the debil; no-one will forget when he does this. And Humaidi raised his finger. Humaidi also said that Muslim bin Abi Maryam said: " A man related  to me that in a church in Syria, he saw imagens of Prophets depicted like this" and Humaidi raised his finger. This is an extremely strange remark, but is sanad up to " the man" is saheeh.

    The prohibited perfume

Question: Is it permissible to use the perfumes that are commonly called "cologne" and contain alcohol?

Answer: It is not permissible to use perfume that is called cologne and contains alcohol for it has been medically proved that it causes intoxication for it includes alcohol, so it is Haram (prohibited) for both, men and women to use it.
However , it does not nullify wudu' (ablution) . As for Salah (prayer) its validity is debatable , for the Jumhur (dominant majority of scholars) holds the view that an intoxicant is najis ( ritually impure ) consequently, the Salaf of the one who  offers it while deliberately having Nahasaj (ritual impurity)  on the body and is aware of the ruling is not valid. Some scholars hold the view that the intoxicant does no cause Nahasaj. Thus , it comes to be known that the person who offers Salah with an intoxicant on their clothes or body while forgetting or ignorant of the ruling or thinking that is Tahir ( ritually pure) their Salah is valid. However to be on the safe side, they should wash off what is on their clothes or body in order to avoid the difference in scholars' opinions. If there is a kind of cologne that does not cause intoxication, it is not haram to use it, since the 'Illah (efective cause) given for a ruling exists , the ruling should be applied and vice versa.
    May Allah grant us sucess!!!!

    ABOUT WHO MAKE IMAGENS

Abu Hurairah (Radia Allahu anhu) narrated having heard the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

" Allah (Subhanna wa ta'ala) said:Who could be more transgressive that who tries create as I  have created, who believes (defying) an atom, a grain or a barley seed."
Aisha ( Radia Allahu anha) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Those who received more punishment in the Day of Resurrection will those that rival with Allah in creation.)
Ibn Abbas (Radia Allahu anhu) related that he heard the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) to say:
"He who made images will be in the Fire. From every imagen of him, will be a soul by which he will be punished in Hell."
Ibn Abbas (Radia Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Whoever makes pictures in this life will be required that  he blew a spirit (or soul)into it but he can not do it."
Abú Al‐Haiay narrated that Ali Ibn Abi Talib (Radia Allahu anhu) siad to him:
"Do you want that I send you with the same mission with which the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) send me?" Do not leave without deleting  any image and nor high grave without leveling."
     CONCLUSIONS
    1. Condemnation for those who make pictures.
    2. The reason behind this prohibition is that it represents bad manners to Allah, who said:" Who can be more transgressive that whoever tries to create as I have created."
    3. The evidence of the infinite power of Allah and the impossibility and debility of those who compete with Allah in the creation, saying : " that create (defying) an atom or a grain or a seed of barley."
    4. These must be the people that receive the worst punishment on the Day of Resurrrection.
    5. Allah will created for each image a soul by which he will be punish in Hell.
    6. They will be asked to inject a spirit (or soul) in the picture.
    7. The delete command to who finds it.

Allah's name only will beautify you when you remind it.

    Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Praise be to Allah! The next question was directed to the permanent Commission on Scientific and religious verdicts by Mohammed Abdul Aziz:

Along with this letter I send a piece of gold jewelry with the name of Allah inscribed on it. Our Muslim women used for the sole purpose of adorning and beautifyind themselves. There was a time when the brothers of the office for to call back the good and forbid evil warned us about the jewelry contained the name of Allah, and that this was illegal.
I would add that not only Muslim women carry this as a garnish, in a manner no different from Christians and jews. The Christiansd inscribed the cross in the jewelry store and the Jews inscribed the star of  David. Please examine this issue for us.

Answer: Due to the jewel that contains the name of Allah inscribed on it, so that Muslim women wear it in their chest as Christian women with the cross or Jewish women with the star of David. Can become use it as an amulet to carry them away to good or evil, and they could reduce something that contains the name of Allah inscribed to sleep with her or moving to dirty places (such as toilette) , the Committee considers that allowed to use such jewels.
This does not seem to stay away from Christians and jews rather than Muslims are forbidden to imitate. This is also de meanin of preservation of the name of Allah and its importance and the generality of the prohibition of wearing amulets.

With Allah is the provision to make it right. May Allah send peace and blessings upon Muhammad (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam), his family and his Companions.

    A dangerous bath

    Monday, October 31, 2011

What is the ruling of having a sauna? Is it permisible for women and men to enter in without and izar? This phenomenon has widely spread so , please advice.

It is strictly forbidden for men to enter saunas without an izar. It was authentically reported in the Hadeeth reported by Jabir (Radia Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Whoever believes in Allah and the Day of Resurrection, let him not go to public baths except while wearing an Izar." ( Related by Al-Nasa'iy and Al-Hakim, and ranked as Sahih (authentic) according to the conditions of Muslim )
This hadeeth has corroborating reports. Women are forbidden from entering in public baths,
It was reported from Aisha ( Radia Allahu anha) that she told some women that came to her: Are you the ones whose women enter public baths?. I have heard the Messenger of  Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) saying: A woman who removes her clothes in other than her husband's house tears the veil between her and Allah." ( Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhy, Ibn Majah, and Al-Hakim, and ranked as Sahih according to the conditions of Al-Bukhari and Muslim. Al-Dhahaby agreed with him.)
It was related in Musnad (hadeeth compilation of) Imam Ahmed, and ranked as Hasan (good) by Al-Hafizh Ibn Kathir that Umar Ibn al Khatabb (Radia Allahu anhu ) said: "O people! I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying, 'A person who believes in Allah and the Day of Resurrection should not sit at a table where there is Khamr (intoxicants); a man who believes in Allah and the Day of Resurrection should not enter a public path without an Izar; and a woman who believes in Allah and the Day of Resurrection should not enter a public bath'" Al hafiz Ibn kathir (Rahimahu Allah) said: Imam Abu Ya`la Al-Mawsily and Al-Hafizh Abu Hatim Muhammad ibn Hibban related in his saheh book of hadeeth entitled : "Al-Anwa` wal-Taqasim", the hadeeth narrated on the authority of Muhammad ibn Thabit ibn Shurahbil from `Abdullah ibn Yazid Al-Khatmy from Abu Ayyub Al-Ansary (Radia Allahu anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "A man who believes in Allah and the Day of Resurrection should not enter public baths except while wearing an Izar; and a woman who believes in Allah and the Day of Resurrection should not enter public baths." He then said: " I told this to `Umar ibn `Abdul-`Aziz, when he was a caliph, so he wrote to Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn `Amr ibn Hazm to ask Muhammad Ibn Thabit about this hadeeth, as he is trustworthy. He asked him, and them he wrote to Umar, who forbade the women  from entering public baths.Umar ibn `Abdul-`Aziz carried out the sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet) of the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam), who had said: "You must follow my Sunnah and that of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs after me." The Muslims have unanimously acknowledged that `Umar ibn `Abdul-`Aziz is one of the guided Imams and the Rightly Guided Caliphs who ruled according to al Haqq (the Truth). This is the end of his words.

May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family,
    and Companions!
