Experts in bi'dah, ignorants in Sunnah

Sunday, February 5, 2012

Hishaam Bin Urwah (Rahimahu Allah) used to say :
"Do not question the people about what they have innovated today , because they have prepared answers for it; rather ask them about the Sunnah because they do not know it."

Do not mix with who you should not

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Mohammed Ibn Abi Rajaab (Rahimahu Allah) said:
"A Man of the people of Kufah informed me that Imraam Ibn Khattan married a woman from the khawaarij to get her away from the religion of the khawaarij. As a result she change him and turned him to the view of the khawaarij." One of the Salaf said: A person should not say that he goes to their meetings and mixed with them to keep them away from their innovations. Indeed, the issues is not guaranteed and can change the heart quickly. The correction/ justice to oneself takes precedence over the correction/justice of other than me."

Ahlulbidah and the kuffaar

Oh you who believe! If you obey a group of those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) , they would (indeed) render you disbelievers after you have believe! (Aali 'Imraan,100)
Shaykh Rabee (hafidhahu Allah) said commenting on this verse:
"The disbelievers, the christians and the Jews love that the Muslimeen apostate from their religion. There is a large portion of this evil intention for the people of the innovation , along with wanting evil for the people of good. From here there is a must that one take caution with them  the utmost caution.Allah has certaintly warned us in this verse, that we have mentioned (soorah Aali 'Imraan,7) that those in whose hearts there is a deviance follow thatg which is unclear from it seeking fitnah. They have the intentions to put the people to fitnah in their religion and deviate them from the truth religion of Allah to that which they are upon of doubts and deviations. They want evil for the one who trust them, sits with them and mixed with them. Based upon this , you see them traversing upon many paths to divert the people of the truth, especially the youth from the true / correct methodology of Allah. They have ways that they have mastered , methods that they are cunning with and cultivated the youth upon.
You will find that this individual doesn't know how to make ablution properly. However he brings massive doubts, uncertainties, confusion, diversion from the people from the truth and the people of the truth. It's possible that you will find this type of person bringing about these affairs ina tremendous way. The refuge is sought with Allah. We ask Allah to save them from these shaytaanic methodologies. We ask Allah to save them from the causes of destruction."

The mortal plan of shaytaan

Saturday, December 17, 2011

Shaykhul Islam Ath Thaani Ibn ul Qayyim (Rahimahu Allah) said:

" And among his repertoire of plans and ploys - of  Iblis - Is that he invites the servant of Allah , with his good character, joy and happiness to types of sins and vices.
As consequently he found him and greets him (to the sunni) so that does not allow him rescued from his evil. Except his demonstration of disgust , giving  an angry look and turning away from him.

Then, the enemy will act kindly towards him, greeting him with happiness, with a radiant face and beautiful words.

Then, will join him, and will have a strong desire to save from their clutches , however he will be unable to do it.

As a result , the enemy (Iblis), will keep moving between them ( the deviant, the innovator that works for shaytaan , the servant sunni) until he gets his desired goal.

Finally, he enters the servant with his plots and through the good character and a shiny face.

For this reason, "the doctors of the heart" have advised us to stay away from the people of the innovations , not to send them the greetings of Salam, and happy, shining faces or even meet them (at all) unless it is with dinginess and severity!!!!

Women in the Masjid

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

QUESTION- There are some Masjids in which the women pray below the actual Masjid , such as in the basement or in a upper level (above the Masjid). We are women who pray in these Masjids , at times followinf the Imaam from a point where we are not able to see him nor the male followers. And sometimes there is a large empty space left over in the area of prayer for the men. Is our prayer valid if we cannot see the Imaam of any of the (male) followers ,and while knowing that sometimes we enter the Masjid and don't know what raka'h he is in. It is allowed in this situation to follow (the Imaam) by (hearing) the raise voice only. Ansd it is correct for us to follow the Imaam while we are on an upper or lower level knowing that at times there is ample room in the Masjid (floor)?

ANSWER- The answer in is two parts. The first is that the prayer and the mentioned scenario is valid so long as the women pray in the Masjid, regardless or whether it is in the upper or lower level. And it is so long as they are able to hear the takbeers from the Imaam indicating the change in position, such as from standing to bowing to prostrating.
The second part is that it is not proper for the women to pray like this unless the area for the men is filled with people and they (the women) cannot find a place behind the rows for them to pray in. In this circumstances, it is permissible for the women to pray in the upper or lower level of the Masjid. But if this Masjid, where the Imaam and the men behind him pray, has ample room left over, then it is not allowed for the women to go up to the upper level or down to the lower level where they won't be able to see the movements of the men praying behind him. The reason for this goes back to two matters:
  1. When the Prophet ,Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam ,said: "The best rows for the men are their first ones and their worst (rows) are their last ones. And the best rows for women are their last ones and the worst (rows) are their first ones" he meant by it in the same ground of the Prophet, Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam , and his companions behind him used to pray on. The women were not in upper or lower levels.
  2. The underlying reason for this is that the speakiers at times can be low and at others times they are not working. So the prayer of the women, who are following him from a upper or lower level, from which they cannot see the prayer of the Imaam or those behind him, is subject to becoming invalid.
To summarize this answer. The prayer that is performed while on a upper or lower level is valid. However, it is not permissible to designate those places for prayer when there is enough room in the prayer place ( musalla) , such that the women are able to pray in the back of it.

The history of 'Umar and the Black Stone

Friday, November 4, 2011

Al Bukhari relates that 'Umar (Radia Allahu anhu) came to the Black Stone (performing Tawaf, ring road), kissed it and then said:

"I know that you are a stone that no cause benefict or harm, and if it was not, because I had seen the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam), kissing you, I would never have kissed you."
Al-Bukhari, Al-Sahih, chapter in what has been said about the Black Stone.

POINTS TO SUGGEST:
  • The eminent Companion and Caliph, 'Umar reminded us in this narrative on pure belief that benefict and harm are not caused by objects created and should not be looked from them. Only Allah has the control over these things.
  • They remind us that acts of worship are taken from the Messenger of Allah, and that a person is not supposed to do their own form of worship, must follow the form of worship which the Prophet teach and practiced.
  • We also learn that once an action is confirmed in the Sunnah, the believer submits and obeys him and practiced because it is confirmed that the Messenger of Allah did, even we do not know the knowledge behind it.
  • This history is also an example of how a responsible person try to clarify and remove any misconceptions that people may have about matters of faith. People had recently left their disbelief and polytheism then 'Umar wanted to make clear that kissing the Black Stone is not in any way as an act of devotion to it, as people used to do with their stone idols.
