Sunday, March 11, 2012

From Aisha (Radia Allahu anha) :
" I used to enter the building in which the Messenger of Allah , and my father were buried , while I was dressed lightly , saying: " These are just my husband and father" However when 'Umar was buried, by Allah, I never entered this building except that my clothing was wrapped tightly around my body , out of shyness from 'Umar"

The Hairdresser of Firawn’s daughter

Monday, March 5, 2012

It was narrated that Ibn Abbaas (Radia Allahu anhu) said: The Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

"On the night on which  I was taken on the Night Journey (Isra') , a beautiful fragance come to me . I said: Oh Jibreel, What is this beautiful fragance? He said: This is the fragance of the hairdresser  of Pharaon's daughter and her childrens. I said: What is their history? He said: Whilst she was combing the hair of Pharaon's daughter one day , the iron comb fell from her hand and she said " Bismillaah" ( In the name of Allah) . The daughter of Pharaon said : My father? She said : No , my Lord and the Lord of your father is Allah. She said: ‘I will tell him about that.’ She said: ‘Yes.’ So she told him and he summoned her and said: ‘O So and so, do you have a Lord other than me?’ She said: ‘Yes, my Lord and your Lord is Allaah.’ He ordered that a baqarah (lit. “cow”) made of copper be heated up, then he ordered that she and her children be thrown into it. She said:I have a request  to make of you. He said: What is your request? She said: ‘I would like my bones and my children’s bones to be gathered together in one cloth and buried.’ He said: ‘This will be done for you.’ He ordered that her children be thrown into it in front of her, one by one, until they came to the last one who was an infant boy who was still being breastfed. It was as she wavered because of him but he said: ‘O mother, go ahead, for the punishment of this world is easier to bear than the punishment of the hereafter.’ So she went ahead.”
Ibn ‘Abbaas (Radia Allahu anhu) said : Four infants spoke: ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (Alehsalam), the companion of Jurayj, the witness of Yoosuf and the son of the hairdresser of Pharaoh’s daughter.

"The occupant of the left guard (and maintain)his pen for six hours, since the Muslim servant (of Allah) has done something wrong or made a mistake , so if he repents and seeks forgiveness from Allah: he would returned to the other side , and if that is not so then he writes just as one."

Don't be stingy with your Deen.

Friday, December 23, 2011

A person being stingy with his Deen to the point that being thrown into fire is more beloved to him that disbelief:

That is because of what has come on the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) in that which Abu 'Abdillah al Haafidh has transmitted to us (saying) Abul- Abbaas Muhammas Ibn Ya'qoob narrated to us (saying) Ibraaheem Ibn Marzooq narrated to us (saying) Wahb Ibn Jareer and Bishr Ibn 'Umar both said Shu'bah narrated to us on Qataadah on Anas (Radia Allahu anhun) that he said, The Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Three (traits) ,whoever has them (then) he has found the sweetness of Imaan (faith); he who Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him that anyone else , and he who loves someone, loving him only for Allah , and he who being thrown into fire is more beloved to him that returning to disbelief after Allah has saved him from it."
The two (Al Bukhari and Muslim) have transmitted in the Saheeh from the hadeeth of Shu'bah ibn  Al  Hajjaaj.
Abu 'Abdillah al Haafidh has transmitted to us (saying) Abu Bakr Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ibn Baalawaih has transmitted to us , and Abul Husain ibn Al Fadl Al-Qattaan transmitted to us  (saying) Abu Sahl Ibn Ziyaad has narrated to us, they both (meaning  Abu Bakr and Abu Sahl) said Ishaaq Ibn Al Hassan Ibn Salamah narrated to us (saying) Thaabit al Bunaanee transmitted to us on Annas Ibn Malik (Radia Allahu anhun) that the messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
" Three (traits), whoever has them (then) he has found by them the sweetness of Imaan; he who Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anyone else, and the man who loves a man loving him only for Allah , and the man who being thrown into the fire is more beloved to him than returning to being a Jew or a Christian."
Muslim transmitted him in the Saheeh by way of another chain on Hammaad.
Al Baihaqee (Rahimau Allah) has said:
So he (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) has demonstrated by this statement of being stingy with the Deen (not wanting to give any of it up) is from Imaan ,because he mentioned the sweetness like Imaan and what he intended is that the person who is stingy with his Deen, is like someone eating something sweet, for just as the one who craves something sweet , he does not find the sweet sensation and take pleasure in it except when eating it. likewise the ones who craves Imaan , his intent from it is not granted to him except when he is stingy with it , for verily he , when he is stingy with Imaan he won't do that which will nullify it , and Allah knows best.

Furthermore, being stingy with the Deen is divided in two types. The first is being stingy with its "Asl"(root,basis,foundation,etc..) so that it does not depart and the second is being stingy with its "Kamaal" (completeness, perfection,etc..) so that it won't become deficient.

Also from being stingy with the Deen is that the believer when he is amongst a people that he is not able to give the Deen its rights amongst them and he is afraid that they will turn him away from his Deen , and he if he leaves from he will find for himself a safe place to settle and he will be in a better state therein than when he was amongst these people, he does not reside amongst them and makes Hijrah (migration) to where he knows it is better for him and more suitable. Allah (Subhanna wa ta'ala) said:
"And whoever leaves his home as a migrant to Allaah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him his reward has become incumbent upon Allaah.” – An-Nisaa:100

The six rights of every Muslim

Friday, December 16, 2011

Abu Hurayrah (Radia Allahu anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "The rights of the Muslim upon the Muslim are six." It was said:  "And what are they, oh Messenger of Allah?" He replied:
"When you meet him, give him the greeting of peace;
When he invites you, respond to his invitation;
When he seeks your advice, advices him;
When he sneezes and praises Allah, suplicate for mercy upon him;
When he becomes ill, visit him;
and when he dies follow him (i.e. his funeral)."

Tafseer of the hadeeth by Shaykh Abdur Rahman As Sa'dee (Rahimahu Allah):
This hadeeth was reported by Muslim. These six rights , whoever establishes them in dealing with the Muslims , then his establishing things other than them (from the obligations) are even more important (or necessary) . And his doing this things results in him fulfilling these obligations and rights , which contain an abundance of good and tremendous reward from Allah.

THE FIRST RIGHT:
" When you meet him , give him the greeting of peace."  For verily the greeting of peace is a cause of love, which results in producing faith (Al Eemaan), which results in the person entering the Paradise. This is as Prophet Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
By the one in Whose Hand is my soul, you all will not enter into the Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love each other. Shall I not direct you to something that if you do it, you will love each other? Spread the greeting of peace amongst yourselves.”
The greeting of peace is from the virtuous characteristics of Islam. For verily each of the two people who meet each other supplicates for the other for safety from evils, and mercy , and blessing that brings about every good. And what follow this , is a cheerful face and appropriate words of greeting which result in unity and love, and it removes feelings of strangement and cold disassociation. Thus, giving the greeting of peace is the right of the Muslim, and it is obligatory upon the person who is greeted to return greeting with a similar greeting or one that is better that it. And the best of the people are those who start the greeting of peace first.

THE SECOND RIGHT:
"When he invites you, respond to his invitation" This mean that when he invites you with an invitation to some food and drink , then fulfils the request of your brother who has drawn near to you and honoured you with the invitation. Respond to his invitation (i.e. accept it) unless you have an excuse.

THE THIRD RIGHT:
His statement , " And when he seeks your advice, advice him" This means that if he seeks consultation with you regarding some action, as to whether he should do it or not, then advise him with that which you would like for yourself. Thus, in the action in something that is beneficial in all expects , then encourage him to do that, and if it is something harmful, then warn him against it. And if the action contains both benefit and harm, then explain that to him and weigh the beneficts against the harms. Likewise , in he consults with you concerning some dealing with someone among the people , or whether  he should marry a woman off to someone or whether he should marry someone , then extend your pure and sincere advice to him, and deal with him from the view point of what you would do for you own self. And avoid deceiving him in any matter of these things. For verily whoever deceives the Muslims, then he is not of them , and indeed he has left off the obligation of being sincere and advising. And this sincerity and advising is absolutely obligatory, however it becomes more emphasided when the person seeks your advise and he request from you that you give him a beneficial opinion. For this reason the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) specifically mentioned it in this important situation. The explanation of the hadeeth " The religion is sincerity" has already been mentioned previously (in this book) in a manner that suffices without us having to repeat the discussion here.

 THE FOURTH RIGHT:
"And when he sneezes and praisses Allah, then pray for mercy upon him"  This is due to the fact that sneezing is a favour from Allah. In the expelling of this congested air that is blocked in certain parts of the body of the human being. Allah makes it easy for this air to have a passage out where it can exit., and thus the sneezing persoon feels relief. Thus, the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) legislated that the person praise Allah for this favour , and he legislated for his (Muslim ) brother by saying to him " May Allah guide you and set right your affairs". Therefore, whoever does not praise Allah , then he does not deserve for others to pray for Mercy upon him , and in this case he cannot blame anyone except himself. For he is the one who has caused himself to lose the two blessings : The blessing of praising Allah, and the blessing of his brother's supplication for him that is a result of the praising.

THE FIFTH RIGHT:
His statement  "And when he becomes ill, visit him "  Visiting the sick is from the rights of the Muslim, And especially for the person who has a highly stressed and emphasized right upon you , like the relative, and the friend and so forth. It is from the best of the righteous deeds. And whoever visits his Muslim brother , he remains engulfed in the mercy (of Allah) and when he sits with him the mercy (of Allah ) covers him. And whoever visits the sick Muslim at the beginning of the day , the Angels send prayers of blessing upon him until evening comes, and whoever visits him at the end of the day , the Angels sned prayers of blessing upon him until morning comes. It is desired for the person who visits the sick to supplicate for him to be cured and to make him  feel at ease. He should ease his worries by giving him glad tidings of well-being and recovery (i.e be positive). He should remind him of repentance  and turning to Allah , and he should give him beneficial admonition. He should not sit with him too long (i.e over staying his welcome) , rather he should only sit with him long enough to fulfil  the right of visiting , unless the sick person is positively effected by many people coming in to see him and many people coming to sit with him. Thus, for each situation there is a different statement (i.e. advice on how to deal with it).

THE SIXTH RIGHT:
His statement, " And if he dies, follow him (his funeral)" For verily whoever follows the funeral until the deceased's body is prayer over , then he will receive a Qeeraat of reward. (Translator's note: A Qeeraat is an amount equivalent to the size of the Mountain of Uhud in Madinah.) And if he follows the funeral procession until the body is buried , then he will receive , two Qeeraats of reward. And following the funeral procession contains ( fulfilment of) a right for Allah, a right for the deceased , and a right for the living relatives of the deceased.

As far as is permissible to lie?...

Thursday, December 15, 2011

"Umm Kulthum Bint 'Uqbah (Radia Allahu anha) said: The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) permitted lying in three situations. During the war, in the reconciliation between people and in the speech by a man to his wife."
(In another narration) The speech by a man to his wife and the speech of a woman to her husband.

Shaykh Albani (Rahimahu Allah) declare:
" I say, that is not in the allowed that a man lie with promises to his wife into something he has not intention of following it. Or he says he bought such and such for a price so and so i.e.more that (the price) real in order to pleasant her- because she may be aware , then it is a reason for her to think ill of her husband , and this is from corruption, not from the correction."

The most precious gift

Abdur Rahmaan Ibn Abi Layla said to Ka'b Ibn Ujratah stay and then he said:  Would you like  me to give to a gift? , the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) came to us and told us to come to you to teach us how to send us the Salam. How do send the greeting? The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) replied: "Oh Allah brings peace abd blessings on Mohammed and his family in the same way you did to Ibrahim. Verily, you are the most blessed and glorious."" Oh Allah bless Mohammed and his family in the same way that You exalt to Ibrahim and his family. Verily, You are the most blessed and glorious." [ Recorded by Bukhari (6357) and Muslim (935)]

Benefits of this subject :"Abdur Rahmaan Ibn Abi Layla said to Ka'b Ibn Ujratah:" Would you like me to give you a gift?"
  1. Abd Al Rahman as Sa'dee (Rahimahu Allah) said: "These words show the Companions (Radia Allahu anhun) and Tabi'oon's superiority and desire for good and knowledge. So much so, they held knowledge about one issue as the mot valuable gift. Reason being, knowledge remains and is well being for this life and the next."  [Sharhu Umdatil Ahkam vol 1 page 366]
  2. Ibn Mulaqqim (Rahimahu Allah) said:" A gift is given to gain someone's love, friendship or to honor them. Some people even say it's given in order to earn a reward in the next life and nothing in this life. In most cases a gift is food , drink or clothing. However this hadeeth shows it to be permissible to give knowledge as a gift." [‘Ilaam bi Faw’idi Umdat al-Ahkam, vol 3, p. 450]
  3. Abdullah Al Bassam ( Rahimahu Allah) said: " The Salaf used to exchange knowledge about issues and verdicts as gifts. They considered these affairs as valuable gifts. Knowledge about religious issuesand verdicts are the most precious gifts and presents." [Tayseer al- ‘Alaam, vol 1, #117]
  4. Shaykh Saleem al Hilalee (Hafidhahu Allah) said: Abd al Rahman Ibn Abi Layla met K'ab (Radia Allahu anhu) . K'ab asked Abd al Rahman if he wanted a gift. In those days the best gift one could give was knowledge about religious issues. The Companions and the Tabi'oon used to consider knowledge as something precious. Therefore when a man taught his brother something, he has given him the best gift man can give." [Zubdat al-Afham, vol 1, p. 504]
  5. Shaykh Muqbil Ibn Hadee al Wadee (Rahimahu Allah) said: " How beautifull knowledge is! It is better than gold and money. It is even better than beautiful women and worldly possesions..."

How Muslim most treat a kaafir

Saturday, December 3, 2011

They brought to Thumama bin Uthal, leader of Al Yamama, he was a kaafir. Was captured by a cavalry that Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) had sent. He was intending to perform Umrah , and then the cavalry arrested him and took him to Medina. Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) fastened him to one of the pillars of the Mosque. Whenever the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) passed near of him, said: "What have you got?", He replied: "I have got good , oh Muhammed , if you want property , then ask me whatever wealth you want; if you should set me free you would do a favor to one who is grateful. The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) whenever he pased, he asked the same question and Thumama always answered the same.
Then Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam)  said :"Release Thumama"  So he ( Thumama) went to a garden of date-palm trees near to the Mosque , took a bath and then go to the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) and said:" "I testify that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, and also testify that  you ,Muhammad , are the Prophet of Allah" By Allah!! I never hated anyone on this earth as much as you. By Allah, there was not face on the surface of the earth mos disliked by me than yours. By Allah, there was not religion most disliked by me that yours. But now, there is nobody most beloved to me that you, your face has become the most beloved face to me and your religion has becomed the most beloved religion to me".

The blessing of a daughter

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

By the authority of  Anas Ibn Malik (Radia Allahu anhu) who said:

"The Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: " Whoever takes care of two girls until they reach adulthood , he and I will be like this on the Day of Juzgement" and then next his fingers." (Saheh Muslim)
On the authority of Aishah (Radia Allahu anha) who said:

" A lady along with her two daughters came to me asking for some alms, but she found nothing with me except one date which I gave her. She divided it between her to daughters, and did not eat anything herself, and then got up and went away. Then the Prophet ( Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam ) came in and I informed him about this story, he said: “Whoever is put to trial by these daughters and he treats them generously (with benevolence) then these daughters will act as a shield for him from Hellfire.” (Saheh Bukhari and Saheh Muslim)
An Nawawi (Rahimahu Allah) said: They are refered to them because they dislike them by the custom , Allah (Azza wa Jall) said:

(And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.) (Surah An nahl, 58)

An Nawawi (rahimahu Allah) said:  In them are found the merits of being kind with the girls and keeping them and being patient with them and their issues." (Explanation of Saheh Muslim by Imam An Nawawi)

On the authority on Ibn Uqbah  'Aamir ( Radia Allahu anhu) who said:

" I heard the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) say: Whoever has three daughters and is patient with them and wears them with his wealth , they will be for him a protection from the Fire." (Imam Bukhari in his book Adaabul Al-Mufraad and is the only authentic)
Allah (Subhanna wa ta'ala) says about the rights of women:
"For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good" ( An nisa, 19)

On the other hand , the servant could find many good things in them , in this life and in the other. Since it is sufficient for the believer the fact that what you  do not like but Allah like it, be in it a future benefict:

Looking to the moon

Once the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) was sitting in a room with Aishah , fixing their shoes. It was very hot and Aisha looked to his blessed front and noticed that there were drops of sweat on it. She was completely burdened by the majesty of this show. She looked intently long enough for him to realize.
He said: "What's wrong?"
She replied: "If Abu Al Bukair Huzali , the poet, saw you would know that his poem was written for you."
The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) asked: "What did you say?"
She replied: "Abu Bakair says that if you look at the majesty of the moon that shyness and illuminates the world for all to see"
So the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) got up, went to Aishah , kissed her between the eyes, and said:" Wallahi ya 'Aishah , you are for me that and much more."

A stone in the abyss

Sunday, November 13, 2011

Khalid bin `Umar Al-`Adawi reported: `Utbah bin Ghazwan, the governor of Basrah, delivered a Khutbah. he praised Allah, glorified Him, then said:"Amma b`adu, verily, the world has been given the news of its end and its running to meet its end swiftly. Nothing is left out of it but a very little amount. Similar to the reminder in  a dish whose owner is collecting it to drink; and you are going to move to an abode which knows no end, and you should proceed there with the good before you, for we have been informed (by the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam)) that a stone will be thrown at one side of the Hell and it would travel down for seventy years but would not reach the bottom. By Allah, it will be filled (with men and jinn). Do you find it strange? We have been informed ( by the Prophet( Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam)) that the distance between two shutters of the gate of Jannah is forty years (distance). And a day would come when it  would be fully packed; I was the seventh amongst who had been with the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam), and we had nothing to eat but the leaves of the tree until the sides of our mouth were injured. We found a sheet  which we tore into two and divided between myself and Sa`d bin Malik. I made the lower garment with half of it and so did Sa'd. Today, there is no amongst us who has not become the governor of a city, and I seek refugee with Allah that I should consider myself great while I am insignificant to Allah (MUSLIM).

Prophet Mohammed (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"There are two groups from amongst the dwellers of  Jahannam, whom I have not
seen. Some people who have whips like tails of cows , with which they beat people,
and women covering their bodies yet naked, who flirt and attract, whose heads are
like the humps of camels. They will not enter Jannah, nor will they enjoy its fragance
even though its fragance can be smelt from such and such distance."

During the night

Friday, October 28, 2011

Q- I read in a pamphelt about a hadith attributed to the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa salam), and says it is sahih  narrated in (authentic book of hadith) Muslim, which states that every night there is a time that in which the doua is answered. However no mention if is at the end of the night or when...It is this hadeeth, sahih?

A- Yes, this hadeeth is saheh, this event was related by Muslim on the authority of  Jabeer that the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

"In every night there is a time in which the doua, will be answered"
Not specified. If a person takes this time, your doua will be answered. Is a hidden hour as of Friday, which is more likely to be after the prayer of Asr (afternoon), or when the Imam (the leader in the collective prayer) sits to say the Khutbah (sermon) of the prayer of Jumu'ah (Friday).
As for this hour, is more likely to be in the middle of the night as the say in some narrations, or in the third part of the night, but usually overnight.
