The Hairdresser of Firawn’s daughter

Monday, March 5, 2012

It was narrated that Ibn Abbaas (Radia Allahu anhu) said: The Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

"On the night on which  I was taken on the Night Journey (Isra') , a beautiful fragance come to me . I said: Oh Jibreel, What is this beautiful fragance? He said: This is the fragance of the hairdresser  of Pharaon's daughter and her childrens. I said: What is their history? He said: Whilst she was combing the hair of Pharaon's daughter one day , the iron comb fell from her hand and she said " Bismillaah" ( In the name of Allah) . The daughter of Pharaon said : My father? She said : No , my Lord and the Lord of your father is Allah. She said: ‘I will tell him about that.’ She said: ‘Yes.’ So she told him and he summoned her and said: ‘O So and so, do you have a Lord other than me?’ She said: ‘Yes, my Lord and your Lord is Allaah.’ He ordered that a baqarah (lit. “cow”) made of copper be heated up, then he ordered that she and her children be thrown into it. She said:I have a request  to make of you. He said: What is your request? She said: ‘I would like my bones and my children’s bones to be gathered together in one cloth and buried.’ He said: ‘This will be done for you.’ He ordered that her children be thrown into it in front of her, one by one, until they came to the last one who was an infant boy who was still being breastfed. It was as she wavered because of him but he said: ‘O mother, go ahead, for the punishment of this world is easier to bear than the punishment of the hereafter.’ So she went ahead.”
Ibn ‘Abbaas (Radia Allahu anhu) said : Four infants spoke: ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (Alehsalam), the companion of Jurayj, the witness of Yoosuf and the son of the hairdresser of Pharaoh’s daughter.

Looking to the moon

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Once the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) was sitting in a room with Aishah , fixing their shoes. It was very hot and Aisha looked to his blessed front and noticed that there were drops of sweat on it. She was completely burdened by the majesty of this show. She looked intently long enough for him to realize.
He said: "What's wrong?"
She replied: "If Abu Al Bukair Huzali , the poet, saw you would know that his poem was written for you."
The Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) asked: "What did you say?"
She replied: "Abu Bakair says that if you look at the majesty of the moon that shyness and illuminates the world for all to see"
So the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) got up, went to Aishah , kissed her between the eyes, and said:" Wallahi ya 'Aishah , you are for me that and much more."

Tears for the Prophet

Friday, November 11, 2011

It is reported that Bilal (Radia Allahu anhu) never used to call the adhan for any one after the death  of the Prophet ( Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam). He wanted to go to Jihad but Abu Bakr did not want him to go. Then Bilal said:
"If you freed me (when I was a slave) to please Allah, then let me go."
Then he went to Al-Sham when 'Umar came to Al Jabiyah (during his caliphate) the Muslim requested that he asked Bilal to make Adhan for them, then 'Umar asked him. He called the Adhan one day and never it has been heard the cry of many people as during that day. When they remembered the Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam).

It is said that the Adhan of the people of Al-Sham was taken from this Adhan.

Monday, November 7, 2011

Umm Abdillah, wife of Shaikh Muhammad ibn Saalih al Uthaymeen (Rahimahu Allah):

Question 15: What were the steps the Shaykh took in seeking knowledge, and what was your role  in that?
Answer: The Shaykh began teaching in the Grand Mosque in Unayzah following the death of his Shaykh . Abd ar Rahman ibn Naasir as Saa'di even before I married him. At that time he used to consider himself a student of knowledge. Concerning my assistance, it was manifested in not distracting him from seeking knowledge and propagating it. I use to serve and make avaible to him what would support his efforts.I would also follow the children and take care of them except in matters that required his notification so that he could direct, admonish and seek a solution.

Question 22: Where did the Shaykh like to spend his rest time?
Answer: In reality, the Shaykh did not know rest time ; all of his time was bussy, even when he was sitting with us, the phone sometimes would ring , and he would spend a lot of time addressing the call. His rest time was in propagating the knowledge, meeting people's need and fatawa.

Question 31: We would like an admonition from you to the wives of the callers and students of knowledge?
Answer: They should preserv their husbands, openly and secretly. In addition they should prepare for them the best situations and conditions to continue providing their duties of dawah and knowledge. Also, I incite them that they should not be bothered by the busy schedule of their husbands and their time spend travelling, seeking reward.

Question 47: If one would ask the father (i.e. the Shaykh) to admonish me as a girl, whay would you expect from him ?
Answer: He would admonish you as he would admonish one of his daughters and all of the daughters of the Muslims to fear Allah openly and secretly, to be righteous to the parents , uphold the ties of kidship, preserve the husband, and fear Allah regarding raising the children Islamically based on leniency and kindness.
